The Soft Soft project’s brief is to find softness in anything related to our project site in Peckham, either through the local culture, history or materials found in the area. Peckham has colourful markets, rich culture and active nightlife however it lacks nature. This project serves as an installation for both people and bees who are vital for our nature. The installation is made up of sustainable concrete and copper. The outside surface has patterned round bubble holes that serve as houses for bees but also for flowers in order to encourage pollination locally. They were created after a series of experiments with plaster and bubble wrap. The inside is made out of copper and the two tubes allow for light to come in and create beautiful reflections on it. This project's goal is to keep people aware of the importance of nature and bees.
