SOFT HARD SOFT

by Julie Beech

How can a space resemble the inside of an inflated bicycle inner tube? Within this proposal the material properties of hard glass and soft (salvaged) rubber are interpreted in a broad, unconfined way. What began as soft becomes a hard material but with soft curves. In contrast, hard materials become soft when influenced by light, reflection and transparency. Hard edges are set against soft curves. Rough against smooth. Light against dark.
