SANDSCAPE

The project aims to design a space for playing and educating the public about sandplay therapy and providing a safe environment for the victims of domestic violence who decide to participate in the therapy. The Association for Sandplay Therapy uses sand and miniature figures to treat social anxiety and past trauma. Inspired by works of Isamu Nogushi, SANDSCAPE includes a big playground space which spreads across the ground floor of the Old Spitalfields Market. The area also includes a seating area with embedded shoe storage compartments. The private office and necessary facilities are located within the first floor of the existing structure above the playground.
