UNIRE | ISOLATO /INSULA

The project aims to address the ideal state of being, as a collective and Isolated – [Unire | Isolato]. Throughout an inquiry into the “City at a Distance”, three key street typologies were identified within the city. 1. Narrow street junctions, compact and highly degraded. The proposal aims to break down the unclear thresholds, opening up the dank ground floor apartments. 2. Internal Courtyards, repeated this architectural logic within the courtyards that were slightly removed from the degraded street scene. 3. The Piazza, generally open, they receive the most natural elements and most footfall. This is re-envisioned in a contemporary approach.
