The project emerged from the study of the Ethiopian and Eritrean food and drink culture in Caledonian Rd. This exploration focused on using reclaimed british object and adapting it to suit an traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony. Through the making of the installation, carving, symbolism and rituals were learnt which would be carried on to the main project. The main project explores how to reclaim an industrial site close to the community which acts as a centre for cultural exchange for all other cultures in the area. The focus is on rituals in faith practices, community / cultivation and flexible market space were these rituals are exchanged and celebrated. The market building closes, with a similar inscription seen in the table from the earlier project.
