The main focus of this wellness centre is to aid those suffering from social anxiety, and will be located where the current Johnstone Boat House stands. The skin of the boathouse will be maintained and the building will accommodate for the needs of those with social anxiety. This Wellness Centre will have a variety of facilities to help reduce/ cure social anxiety - these being a meditation space, an exercise space and a relaxation/ socialising space. Lighting was a crucial factor that I had to take into account when designing, and it made me have to experiment with a multitude of varying designs so that I could discover how to illuminate the interior spaces with the necessary amount of daylight required without modifying the skin of the boathouse. This meant that the roof was an important design focus for this project, as well as the implementation of a double space within the building.
