CONTAINED IN HACKNEY WICK

My site is an old boathouse along the River Lee. I removed the internals and kept only the exterior walls. My design consisted of rooms constructed out of timber with their form inspired by shipping containers. During my research, I was attracted to their modular ability and the designs that could come from them. My program is a Prostate Cancer consultation and educational centre. I aim to create a safe space for men to learn about prostate cancer and receive advice from medical professionals. If patients have concerns about their health there will be two doctors around at all times. If a problem is serious then they will be referred to a specialist in the field. Talks regarding Prostate Cancer will be held weekly in the dedicated educational space.
