''Chandeliers are marvels of drop-dead showiness, the jewellery of architecture.'' - Peter York. In architecture, as in every part of life these days, we are trying to savour what we have left on planet Earth and move towards a sustainable Earth-friendly future. Sometimes it might seem we are asked to give up luxuries and comforts to live sustainably. Recycling/reusing and reworking an old item is definitely not something that sounds oh so fabulous. This project focuses on recycling used glass, since glass is 100% recyclable without losing its quality to make marvellous chandeliers for people with high ceilings, fat wallets, and a love for the planet we inhabit. We all know the secret to life is to put yourself in the right light(ing).
