WELLBEING FOR MENTAL HEALTH PATIENTS

by Dana Al-mohamadi

Recent statistics show 75% of people seek mental health services in England. Further to COVID-19, this percentage is only increasing. This project aims to help vulnerable patients feel safe whilst receiving the help they need. An ambient, calm and relaxing atmosphere is created by a central waterfall, with users hearing the water whilst travelling through the space. Alongside this, solo swing chairs provide a place for private contemplation and headspace. Group activity areas are designed with natural materials and large openings to enable patients to connect with the larger space and prevent visitors from feeling alone.
