The ‘The Exchange Market’ aims to enhance the surrounding area through initiatives to engage with the River Lea as well as creating solutions to recover local economic shocks from the Covid-19 Pandemic. The region is rich with industrial heritage whereby its current land is occupied by many heavy industries that form the supply chains and waste management centres for London. A strategy to partner with the industrial estate to provide climate-resilient solutions for renewable energy and to create accessible pathways along the River Lea. The proposal of an independent market stall to uplift communities working in the catering industry and to encourage people from local residents to visitors as a social destination space. To open an experience revolving around everyday kitchen appliances that source power through movement with a simple footstep of a button and the peddling action on a bicycle. The project emphasises ‘exchange’ to build relationships around the urban environment and people to work harmoniously.
