The “Jamhouse” project showcases organic jam production. Designed around 3 key aspects: 1. Growing and picking fruits 2. Manufacturing 3. Sale (shop, bar, cafe). Jamhouse visitors can observe every step, as well as participate in the process. Research in to ETFE material influenced the design, allowing control of the climate, to create a suitable environment for growing fruit. The geodesic dome structure is strong, but looks light. The result is a shell, the "sky", within which a lush green garden with colourful berries and fruits grow, resulting in a design that is sweet and fun, like a jar of jam.
