ENDLESS KITCHEN CUISINE

by Alefiya Jabir

Endless Kitchen Cuisine is a space for cookery classes for refugees and migrants struggling to integrate and access employment within Peckham. This helps them to learn English and build confidence whilst promoting contact and cultural exchange within the wider community. This social enterprise hosts a different cuisine everyday, 7 days a week. Every cuisine is symbolic to the different cultures and communities living in Peckham. The project's purpose is to celebrate and unite these cultures with an endless table that runs throughout the structure at different levels accommodating different seating arrangements and eating traditions. The structure consists of consecutive glulam panels that help to create a threshold between the public and private space whilst still uniting the different zones and cultures through the Endless Cuisine Kitchen.
