PALM OIL SPRINGS

by Callum Bleasdale

Palm Oil Springs is a palm oil farm situated 100 meters away from Heathrow Airports Northern runway. The project aims to reduce the emissions of the aviation industry by employing a closed loop system which captures wasted heat energy from planes taking off and recycles it in the greenhouse which in turn grows palm oil for use in the bio-fuel industry. The bio-fuel is then used by planes on the runway thus creating a closed loop system. Socially Palm Oil Springs aims to bridge the gap between the global airport and the surrounding suburban villages by creating a public pool and park accessible by local residents and airport visitors.
