THE WATCHMEN IN THE TREES

'The Watchmen in the Trees' designs spaces that aim to work as an organism to unite people and protect their environment. The project seeks to draw attention to the overlooked values of abandoned settlements in Gherdeal, Transylvania, and explore their new role in society while closely reflecting on their communal roots and past industries. New tectonics were created to increase the primary industry of the villagers, agriculture and farming, by developing the concept of cultivating architecture by naturally growing the materials. The proposal becomes a garden that protects the forest from deforestation, brings life back into the village, and repopulates.
