“Metamorphosis’s” aim is to repurpose the space into a multifunctional venue, that focuses on being a flagship store during the day and it transforms into an ephemeral, dynamic dancing space, in the late evening. During the day, the space is surrounded by fabric, showcasing Iris van Herpen’s clothing brand (fashion designer that creates clothing based on dance movements) The placement of fabric is well thought out and designed in ‘butterfly’ patterns and shaped in a cocoon ‘falling’ from the ceiling that ‘wraps’ the designer’s dresses (This showcases the idea of unreleased collection, plays the role of ‘teaser’ for customers/visitors). During the night, the space transforms into a different type of experience, where all the displays and fabric are cleared away to make space for dancers, adding different lighting, fabric and a stage if needed. The focus is on creating an immersive exprience for the audience, but also a pleasant spacious studio for the performers, such as Sienna Lalau. (dancer, known for K-pop dance, Contemporary and Hip-Hop, focusing on flow movements) . My proposal includes weekly dancing/sewing classes, and workshops (dance/fashion workshops, to educate people about fashion and sustainable fashion, and overworking in the fast fashion industry).
