A BREATH OF FRESH AIR: AN AIR PURIFYING URBAN FOREST SCHOOL

by Adam Primmer

The project aims to transform the disused Millennium Mills in Silvertown into ‘An Air Purifying Urban Forest School’ The school will merge the ideologies of Forest schools with that of mainstream schools, creating an environment that embodies creativity, nature, risk, and education. The school will provide a breath of fresh air through its moss air purifying panels and through its approach to education. A series of glulam modules are assembled in different variations to create an organic structure that can be applied to a range of locations, with the aim of improving air quality and providing stimulating environments for education and play.
