Taranto has been a region famous for its philosophy and crafts since 706 BC, and has been an important port and trade centre, and a city that has played a key role in the development of the region. However, since 1965, as the iron factory called ILVA flourished, the city became a single economic industry, and the city's environmental pollution was serious. Due to social displacement caused by urban pollution and industrial change, Taranto's old town is becoming an isolated ghost town. However, the geographical potential and historical relics of the Taranto region are hard to forget. In order to remember and preserve this, the government and local people are carrying out many campaigns to solve urban renewal and pollution. Local people are doing hemp farming, educating them on the importance of nature and at the same time promoting local development. We aim to build a self-sufficient local industry, grow together with hemp agriculture, and purify polluted areas by showing and encouraging the potential of industries using hemp through showrooms and material labs that show products related to hemp. The hemp material lab can grow into a variety of industries, and educated residents will build polluted and crumbling buildings around them in an eco-friendly way.
