PROJECT TITLE

‘Lucid Divides’ is a project that explores the influences left by a spirit named S.O.I.E. An acronym for Spirit of Income Equality; S.O.I.E’s subtly leads the project to discovering areas in Palermo beset by income divides, exploring body imprints through ceramic forms and merging existing systems, creating an interdependent system for society and communities. S.O.I.E is a spirit who relishes in organic and imprinted forms; its shell reflects the spaces S.O.I.E is familiar with in its original emerging place ‘Lucidia’. S.O.I.E’s purpose of Income Equality is a world issue that designers today need to implement in their designs to create better lived societies and communities blurring all together the lucid divides. The building proposal on Via Cipressi is a scheme which merges the house value divide from the north and the south side of the street. The scheme has interdependent programmes with co-living housing for the three Italian families managing the facilities.
