The purpose of my project is to create a space for maker who upcycle discarded clothes. Not only private spaces for maker but also public spaces for people were created. On the ground floor, clothes can be displayed, moreover, it is retail. On the first floor, it is a workspace where the maker can freely design. Also, the warehouse is included to store clothes. Lastly, on the second floor, it is the maker’s private space, which consists of a bedroom, kitchen, toilet, and living room. The ground floor has been designed as an exhibition space, not just a clothing store. So, the fabric is dropped from the second-floor ceiling to the ground level and displayed the maker’s clothes in between. The textile installation starts at the top because it symbolises that there’s a stack of clothes that people throw away every year, and it’s made into usable clothes as it passes down the maker’s workspace on the first floor. Using the way the maker upcycles clothes, they can be recycled without polluting the environment constantly. It made my project title ‘Eternal.’
