THE HIDDEN CITY

This project seeks to create a relationship between people and nature that engages with the ideas of light, flora and fauna as fundamental expressions of a future city. The project develops a new kind of relationship between human and nature and draws inspiration from the varying housing tectonics in the immediate surrounding context. Using architectural expressions of rhythm and light to carve out and re-imagine the interdependency between people and Beijing’s hidden wildlife. The relationship between family is re-imagined by hacking the deck access linear block with spaces that bring people and nature closer together but also allows nature to grow independently, the project seeks to return the act of dwelling to its natural state.
