ECO-SCAPE: A MULTI-GENERATIONAL OASIS IN CENTRAL BEIJNG

This centrally located housing project in Beijing caters to multigenerational families and addresses the needs of single immigrant workers. Inspired by traditional Chinese courtyards and previous social housing projects, the development incorporates a repeating standardized unit that accommodates three generations of family members. Additionally, smaller studio spaces are included to support the immigrant workers in the area. Each unit features an outdoor 'courtyard' located at height, offering a connection to nature and breathtaking views of semi-private green spaces. The ground floor of the building provides a diverse range of facilities and communal amenities, such as old age homes and nurseries. With its retail spaces and multi-use design, this development offers a cohesive and functional environment for families and working individuals alike.
