My project is located in Beijing, China next to the Galaxy Soho building by Zaha Hadid, where I have designed dwellings for young, working couples in the city, reconnecting the user with nature during their busy day to day life. Inspired by traditional Chinese hutongs and Chinese culture in relation to nature, I have created courtyards which provide the users with community gardening spaces as well as large rooftop greenhouses for people to grow their own vegetables and take part in meditation. The wider community are able to enjoy other areas such as the main multi story greenhouse which includes a restaurant and additional plots to grow plants and vegetables. The proposal will allow the users to disconnect from their working life and reconnect with nature through the use of additional green spaces in the heart of the busy city.
