Dealing with the industrial harbor relicts of the 19th century dry docks of the city of Antwerp, this area will gain a new role as an urban aquatic centre and waterfront park, bringing the passersby closer to the port and water. The vision of the Dry Docks site will reunite the port with the city and its people, while the park will reveal the industrial heritage and offer a unique waterfront experience. The Dry Docks site is a unique location in Antwerp, offering both a glimpse of the port city’s past and a view into a future where we realise the potential of this remarkable location. Today, the area composed by the former dry docks, on the northern side of the city of Antwerp, forms an urban void between the historical city center and the harbor.
