This is a network of redefined pocket parks located within industrial land between Bromley-By-Bow and Star Lane. This intervention intends to draw people closer to an area that doesn’t fit their identity and aims to connect these separated neighbourhoods demographically without the need of large and complex infrastructure. This aims to be a long-term network (lasting around 5-10 years) that will continue to expand to areas within and outside the site as the success of this response eventually increases. Furthermore, a few of these parks work in collaboration with bigger organisations, helping with certain themes a park will portray making them unique in their own way. At launch, this network will open with six parks that are split into two categories in response to the strategic approach. These categories consist of ‘The B.I.G.S (Bringing Identity with Green Spaces)’, and ‘The S.M.A.L.L.S (Simple Made And Long Lasting Spaces)’. These parks all equally respond to the strategic approach but have different uses. Furthermore, these parks will have a stand showcasing QR code, allowing individuals to view other park locations within this network via a website which will showcase park info, and the current population status in each park.
