RECYCLING BIOMES

by Adam Din

Project Location: Leven Square, River Lea My design project aims at tackling the UKs existing energy crisis issue; by recycling peoples food waste and turning it into energy through the process of anaerobic digestion. Inpired by Buckminster Fullers geodisic domes, and Nicholas Grimshaws Eden Project, I am proposing CLT and ETFE biomes which encase the recycling process beneath whilst simultaneosly boosting ecology and recycling awareness in the area. A futuristic concept embodied within my design proposal is the use of drones to collect food waste from peoples balconies. Specifically targeting high-rise residential developments in the Newham area. Byproducts from the recycling process are sent to UK farms to help boost their crops.
