TIDAL WALK

by Hamza Khan

The project is based in Cody Dock in East London, in borough of Newham in which we are working with disconnected communities. One of these communities is the local ecology of endangered birds, creatures such as the Marsh harrier, Peregrine falcon, swifts and kingfishers are being impacted due to the infrastructure development. These large developments are taking up habitat spaces and forging grounds and disrupting the local ecology. Thus the concept is to create a wetlands space run by the wildlife trust alongside a community centre to house workshops and activities which is run by the London neighbour planners to educate communities regrading the importance of this creatures. The scheme will provide conservation and secure habitats for a range of wildlife from tidal ponds, sand banks, giants reeds and rich plantation. This will encourage communities to reconnect with each other and furthermore reconnect with nature.
