PIER 54

Pier 54 is a Social Condenser that aims to push the boundaries of traditional art and foster a vibrant and inclusive community. Within this pier, studios bring together performers, visual artists, and filmmakers inspired by the iconic Judson Dance Theatre. This project is a collaboration between renowned artist Carolee Schneemann, Tower Hamlets, and the Inspiring Communities Fund, which aims to unite people and enhance neighbourhoods through engaging social activities. Pier 54 stands as a testament to adaptive architecture, designed to ignite the senses, inspire creativity, and foster a strong sense of community. Drawing inspiration from Carolee Schneemann's pioneering work, which explored the interplay between the human body and its surroundings, this project pushes the boundaries of dance and performance art.
