Prior to this he was a partner at Make Architects for over a decade and was involved in the design and delivery of several award-winning schemes across the UK. He has previously taught Architecture at the University of Nottingham and the University of Greenwich.

Benson Lau

Benson Lau practised as an architect and environmental design consultant before joining academia. He specializes in Evidence informed Environmental Design approach in architecture and has published in leading scientific journals and refereed conference proceedings. He previously taught architecture and environmental design at the University of Nottingham and was the external examiner for the School of Architecture at Oxford Brookes.

Carine Woiezechoski

Carine Berger Woiezechoski is an architect and environmental consultant holding a PhD in the field of urban farming in Tropical climates. University of Westminster BSc Architecture and Environmental Design Module Leader for Design Module Studio in 2nd Year, as well as 1st Year tutor. Alongside, she has also been a visiting lecturer and guest critic at different universities in Brazil.

The students were asked to design a sustainable research and development centre or ‘environmental incubator’ which operates as both a private facility for pioneering academic researchers and a public facility that educates the local community on a particular field of sustainable design through a series of immersive spatial activities. The brief outcome was a meaningful environmental design strategy that informed the design of one of the three unique sites in Deptford, each with one of the following pre-defined themes: Biomaterial production and recycling, biophilia and biodiversity for mindfulness, and water/solar energy harvesting for urban farming.
