Resilient Collective Corridor responds to the dirty secrets of Naples, in particular to the exploitation of the migrants on the tomato fields by the ecomafia. Is there a way to expose these dirty secrets and create a better life on the edge? The chosen site is the abandoned industrial area of Bagnoli on the western coast of Naples. An adaptive reuse of the industrial derelicts and an ecological transformation of the landscape into a wide tomato field will bring the area back to life, creating opportunities for the migrants and Bagnoli’s communities. An elevated footbridge will connect the existing factories and the area, and underneath it, the resilient collective will be the centre of habitable units, communal activities and workshops to engage the communities and create solidarity between the people. The products of the tomato fields will be transformed in the factories into architectural elements that will be part of the complex itself. Towers along the resilient collective will be observation points of the area, they will naturally cool the indoor spaces, dissolve through time and be eaten by the birds. Seasonally the structure will be built again by the community, enhancing the concept of temporary and permanent architecture.
