SAFFRON LAGOON

The fluid and dynamic path I’ve designed walks you through a chronological cycle of cultivating saffron, where each step is segregated into its own pavilion. Tidal and solar energy are simultaneously used throughout to supple energy and to clean the river water used to grow the saffron. As you walk through the elevated ramp, you are met with step seats that act as an “amphitheater” to admire the river thames before entering the green room to collect or pluck the aeroponically grown saffron. The whole concept is meant to elevate Deptfords preexisting natural beauty and to give the community and a path that adds excitement to their everyday routine instead of stand as obstruction.
