A cultural project located in Gravesend uses generational Industrial heritage to connect to the local community. By exploring the Socialist and industrial periphery within the architecture and a combination of public and private spaces. The program proposes an innovative youth club and a civic space that can be used for community-run shows and study spaces. The ambition derives from Lina Bo Bardi’s designs within the SESC Pompei that redeveloped industrial warehouses into a public space, and an epidemic of youth crime that has been increasing subsequently with the cut in youth funding. As a result, the youth club is connected to the civic structure to enable kids to trickle into a structured study space and connect with the rest of the community.
