A FLIGHT OF FANTASY, THROUGH A DREAM(E)SCAPE

by Julia Pastor

The building itself is an anthropomorphism of a Mother Hen’s wing. The structure encloses us and creates a boundary between the interior and exterior world without making people feel as if they are completely separated from the outside. The client, the ‘Mystery Object Group’, will be liberated from the constraints of working in a public library and the space will allow them to archive these historic artifacts, similarly, to how a Magpie collects shiny objects. It also allows them to display their own work so it can be celebrated by the other members and visiting users, thus a new community has been created in Southwark where we share, collect and enjoy fresh eggs.
