THE URBAN CANOPY NURSERY PROJECT

The Urban Canopy is a nursery which cleans the air from dust and small particles through a triangular roof space. With mostly residential areas among the high traffic roads in North Woolwich the local community is missing spaces for children where they could meaningfully spend their time in safe and clean environments. The Urban Canopy would offer spaces for the children, a new economic opportunity for the locals, and address the issue of pollution. A busy open internal courtyard and various volumes used by children during the day and locals in the evening will be connected directly to the communities. The triangulated urban canopy that is co-living with the layer of dust accumulating on top and open, welcoming spaces underneath.
