THE DINING CUBE

by Carla Chisari

The design proposes the conversion of the White Cube gallery in Bermondsey Street into a multisensory restaurant. The former warehouse serves today as an art gallery on the ground floor and office space on the first floor. The scheme will keep the existing structure and only convert the ground floor. The design proposes an interior space that pushes the boundaries of ordinary space to create a bizarre dining experience. The owner’s intention is to elevate food as art and create a suggestive experience that enriches the visitor as art does. A space exclusively restricted to those who are interested in the experience rather than eating.
