Dr Mohataz Hossain is an expert and educator in environmental architecture, integrated environmental design and technology with a special focus on usersu2019 comfort, health and wellbeing. He completed his PhD in Architecture from the University of Nottingham, funded by Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK, and his PhD research and publications focused on improving indoor environment to cope with climate change and integrated digital technology. His PhD research was shortlisted for RIBA Presidentu2019s Award for Research 2020.

Zhenzhou Weng

Zhenzhou Weng is widely involved in both BSc and MSc Architecture and Environmental Design at Westminster, on the learning of principles, methodologies, and tools. He recently defended his PhD at the University of Bath on the u2018Development of Intuitive Courseware for Enhancing Architectu2019s Learning of Building Scienceu2019 and has also published research on design optimisation and applications of digital technologies in the context of environmental education. He is also a certified Passivhaus designer, and proactive in pushing interdisciplinarity.

Technical and Environmental Studies 3: Environmental and Energy Performance is one of the vital modules for the BSc AED Year 3 Students. This module introduces the concepts and methodologies for the environmental performance predictions and evaluations (i.e. simplified steady-state calculation to more sophisticated energy modelling and simulation) of existing buildings as well as new designs. It also helps students to monitor and test the scaled prototypes and selected space associated of the final thesis project.
