Tabatha Mills is a Senior Lecturer and the Architectural Technology Course Leader. She leads the 1st year of the programme, coordinating design modules to work in synopsis. With an extensive practice-based background of 18 years, Tabatha has been at the UoW for over 13 years and is a passionate advocate of the discipline.

Jamie graduated from the course as CIAT GLR Gold Medalist and is currently in practice as an Architectural Technologist at BLA working on a variety of projects. He brings his creative and technological brilliance to the studio.

Tessa is Head of Design and Technical at a large housing association where she oversees the development of new homes across London and the south east. Tessa explores how design, technology and sustainability can intersect to produce buildings fit for the future.

AT1 students undertake an illustrated essay assignment in the first semester which focuses on the architectural language and technological theories of case study buildings, developing sketching and presentational skills. This is followed by a group portfolio encompassing site analysis, surveying, sketch development, space standard and building regulation research and a final scheme proposal which includes hand drawn general arrangement drawings, CAD details and physical model making. The studio has a residential scale focus at this level.
