COFFEE TO CUP PROJECT

For this brief, I was required to design a building that follows the principles of the circular/blue economy, where one person’s waste is another person’s resource. I decided to use spent coffee grounds (SCG) as my resource, which will form the basis of my building. The SCG will be collected from local coffee shops and go into making reusable coffee cups, which are then redistributed to the participating coffee shops. The architectural idea is to celebrate this manufacturing process, subsequently hoping to encourage visitors to think of their place in the wider circular economy.
