MAPLE PAVILION

by Maya Mira

This project was about a temporary structure providing a temporary space for primary school children to teach them about the issues regarding climate change so I also concentrated more in air pollution specifically. The temporary pavilion is located in hackney wick. Consequently when entering my pavilion starting from the bottom right I have an open reception and toilets. And moving on to the top there is a big classroom that has a projector for children to watch videos about climate change and learning stuff, also there is a chimney machine that they will experiment with to see how the air that comes from the chimney is bad for us. Furthermore looking at the bottom left these are small cables with different types of plants from inside and a living wall. Lastly in my pavilion I have an outside deck so parents can rest and sit while waiting. The materials used on the exterior are wood and living willow.
