THE HABERDASHERS’ BAZAAR

by Manvin Grover

A haberdashery market with a 3-way interior balcony exhibition, workshops accessible from the street and shops to buy materials. A grand entrance into an internal space that feels almost like the outside with the partly glass roof angled to face the South. The market has 4 tree-columns that extend into branches to hold the roof. The project also includes the 2-storey living space which is on the back of the building to give the residents the required privacy. Living space blends into the market through the internal windows and viewing balcony that look down into the market. The roof is inspired by Origami Architecture and roofs with glass frames to create the atmosphere needed. It also overshadows part of the pavement in front of the building acting as a canopy.
