WARBLER INDUSTRIES CORP.

by Rupert Heasman

Warbler Industries Corporation is centred around the promotion of sustainable trout farming in the Tidal Thames. The River Thames is the cleanest it has been since 1957 when it was declared biologically dead by The Natural History Museum, and fish consumption in The UK is estimated to grow by 1.25M kg per week by the end of this decade. Scientists from Jadavpur University in India have discovered the energy harvesting performance of the bio-waste fish scales, the collagen more specifically. This by-product will be laminated forming a piezo-electric generator and used across the site as a façade treatment to convert mechanical energy from the prevailing wind to electrical energy, powering the 36 warbler houses, processing factory and research institute. The forms, that have taken inspiration from aircraft and automobiles, have been informed by computational fluid dynamics software to maximise the potential energy harvested and predict wind pressures. A two-tier site provides various accommodation for 290 inhabitants, assisting with housing demands in the local area. Warbler Industries Corp has several trade and leisure relationships with other sites in Doggerville including the Soy Bean Pier, Creative Hub and Potato Farm.
