MOSS EXPERIENCE

by Nicole Frankiewicz

Located just off the busy Lea Bridge Road,my building aims to act as a sort of wellness centre. Moss walls upon entering my building, provide a breath of fresh air whilst filtering out particulate matter, absorbing CO2 and removing soot, dirt, and other pollutants. The Spanish moss colonnade is the leading ‘path’ through my building, connecting the entrance (through the main road’s pathway) to the nature path which is also part of our site. The moss growing with the colonnade is planted on a large scale as it then used for making Spanish moss paper in the workspace and later used to create books which can be read in my library.
