THE AGORA OF WHITECHAPEL

by Riane Oukili

The Agora of Whitechapel sees the revival of Toynbee Hall. A civic presence returns to the centre of the area currently threatened by our new generations.

It’s a convivial, social and inclusive space open for all generations. People can talk about issues or matter of public interest.

This fulfilled part of the vision of Toynbee Hall to becone a space which brought people together across class line and encouraging mutual understanding and positive choices on matters concerning Whitechapel.

It becomes a place inspired by the Agora of Athens, a place to meet, and place to work, a place to learn, and a place to debate.
