MORRIS HOMES

by Khuzaymah Pathan

Morris Homes is a project which explored the architecture and environment of Rough Sleepers of London. Honing in Waltham Forest, the site is the William Morris Gallery alongside the adjoined grounds of Lloyd Park. William Morris once said, ‘I do not want art for a few any more than education for a few, or freedom for a few.’ I wanted to continue that ethos into my project and ensure that the final outcomes embodied his vision. The site acts as a host to a social renovation scheme, where rough sleepers could arrive and with the assistance of the existing community fabricate units which are permanent and beautiful rather than the current temporary architecture.
