THE AILURANTHROPY PROJECT

by Lauriane Hewes

Is it a crisis the younger members of society are reconsidering their rights to parenthood or finding a more appealing lifestyle through pet-owning?
This project is a study of primarily the cat psychology and physical attributes in an environment where they are slowly re-established as playing a human child's role. This is reasoned based on a study of articles written on the 'modernising' millennial outlook towards pet owning. Altered architectural environments will be critiqued as well as the intervention of prosthetics placed on the cats triggering this architecture changes. Definition of Ailuranthropy: Ailuranthropy comes from the Greek words ailouros meaning "cat", and anthropos, meaning "human" and refers to human/feline transformations, or to other beings that combine feline and human characteristics.
Ailuranthrope is a lesser-known term that refers to a feline therianthrope.
