THE 'DADOEDOIDüDIPDONDENDAN' COLLEGE OF FASHION, HAIR AND BEAUTY

by William Rowe

An interest in the moment that objects acquire architectural properties led to the creation of the ‘DaDoeDoiDüDipDonDenDan’ notational system that instructed its users to transform inanimate objects into different wearable objects using ‘chance’. From these items developed an architecture exploring how worn objects (fashion) inform our experience as both a viewer and user through promenading, parading, classification and uniforms. The Fashion, Beauty and Hair college is part of a wider masterplan for a Higher Education Guild developed in a group with three others and is found in Barking Riverside on the site of Dagenham Sunday Market.
