BIO- LABORATORY

In our modern age, sustainability is vital when planning and designing structures. As a first-year student beginning this project, it was important for me to understand this concept of recycling old or ruined materials to re-create new and environmentally friendly designs. Creating this bio-laboratory pushed me to begin thinking more about the process of reusing materials, such as the dye produced from the food waste, and centering the concept of the building design around that specific operation, the dyeing of the fabric. Applying this way of designing to my further projects will hopefully allow the design and architecture to speak for itself.
