4 Points is a hybrid space of worship primarily for Muslims and Christians. The concept is drawn from the 4 rivers of Paradise, connecting the 4 communities and solving 4 problems. It uses inter-faith interactions to build conversations between divided communities by bringing them into a shared space of worship and taking part in communal activities. It gives the residents on the site of Hackney Wick - Fish Island, currently undergoing gentrification, a sense of belonging through togetherness. The aim of the design was to celebrate both religions under the same roof through their individual architectures rather than creating a blank white space meant to offend neither parties.
