KENTISH TOWN FOOD MARKET

by Noelia Del Rio Sanchez

The proposal aims to make the best use of the building and also improve the built environment while providing a leisure area to the neighborhood.
Focusing its design on sustainable architecture, reusing materials, thus lengthening its life, recycling rain water, and improving the natural light of the environment, allowing energy savings.

For this project I have made a food market that makes the most of the space. To do this, I have created different areas inside recycled train carriages and platforms that connect them.

My idea came after my interest in creating different metal structures with the use of beams and glass. Start looking at existing examples at other train stations created by Foster and Partners. After choosing the building, I developed and modified this idea to maximise the usable space since it is not very large.
