LONDON ACOUSTIC LAB AND MARYLEBONE HALLS PROJECT

by Mohammed Rafsan Raja

Two projects located in Marylebone, London. the first being a small scale temporary climate change hub and the latter, a refurbishment of the student halls. London Acoustic Labs is an experimental climate change educational centre teaching kids the rate at which climate change is increasing using interactive sound installations. the structure plays with the build and natural environment creating pockets of noise progressively overlapping, referring to the rise in climate change - through the sound. The refurbishment project, I focussed on bringing back a pocket of greenery to the otherwise dense urban environment, while also reducing the carbon footprint of the building. focussing the design proposal around rainwater harvesting, we designed this intervention.
