HETEROTOPIC EXPERIMENTS IN LITTLE BRITAIN

by Andrei Bigan

Set within the relics of the Roman wall in the City of London, the proposals for The Repository of Thresholds and The Aqua Alta Institute of Architecture furthers the historically and culturally rich narratives that are apparent in the area. The first experiments with physical and tactile environments through the notion of thresholds. The latter, investigates the effects of climate change and especially those related to flooding. This interdisciplinary school encourages interaction between architects, chemists, biologists and philosophers, and is both a research centre and bathhouse that celebrates the journey of water in the City.
